The Multi Axial Calcaneal Distractor, short MACD, is a multi-functional instrument for the fracture reduction of the calcaneus. The device supports the stabilization and manipulation of the axis of rotation and length of distraction for the further procedure of the osteosynthesis. Independent of the user, the system can be used for minimal invasive, mini open and open techniques. Surgical approaches, reduction steps, image converter settings and osteosynthesis procedures are not impeded in any way.

Indications

  • Calcaneal Fractures

Contraindications

  • local or general prerequisites for surgery not given (local infection, ulcus, vascular occlusive disease)
  • lack of compliance
  • chronic alcohol and drug abuse

Compatibility

Standard K-Wires with a diameter up to 3,2mm
